Myths about MLM your upline won't tell you!.
The 5 Features an MLM Program Should Offer
By Michael Rupkalvis
Never before has there existed such an abundance of multi-level and network marketing programs for entrepreneurs to select from. Magazines, newspapers and especially the internet all contain offers from MLM and network marketing programs, all attempting to entice new members into their fold.
What exactly would comprise an ideal offering?
I recommend selecting a program that has the following five components.
The program has to include a means of satisfying the primary objection of most network marketers; namely, how to recruit a downline, and market your products, without needing to constantly annoy your friends, family, and other people you know. Most people strongly abhor the idea of having to turn to their warm market as the main source of income generation. The ideal program should include a lead-generation strategy whereby the independent business owner ("IBO") has made available to him or her a respectable quantity of leads from third parties they have never met.
The elite network marketing program should not involve the IBO in having to buy, stock and ship product inventory. The ideal program would allow the IBO to just solicit the orders, without requiring that he be involved in setting up his own credit card processing service; without having to constantly purchase from the MLM company large quantities of products to satisfy projected orders from customers; and without having to be a part of the shipping process. The network marketing company itself would be responsible for inventory and ship the products directly to the customers of the IBO. Such a system has the additional advantages of not demanding that the IBO tie up cash flow in product inventory, as well as giving the IBO more time so he can instead focus on recruiting new customers and getting existing customers to reorder products.
Another essential component of a first class MLM organization is the regular introduction of new products. This not only helps to maintain the commitment of the IBO for the business, but adds to the potential customer base for the IBOs. Each new product means new sales.
Ideally the IBO should sign up with the MLM or network marketing program in its beginning phase. By joining on or near the 'ground floor' of the opportunity, the IBO's chance of being able to build a large downline is increased substantially. The MLM industry is replete with cases of people who joined in the launch stage and who, because of that, created an extensive network of sponsored IBO's below them, thereby producing a lucrative source of ongoing residual income for their efforts. And if the company, while new to network marketing, has been operating in other areas successfully for a few years, that is even better.
Another important component is that the downline matrix should accommodate what is known as 'spill'. This aspect of the MLM matrix means that the IBO is the beneficiary of new downline members below him due to the efforts of the IBOs above him in the matrix. The result of this is to increase each IBO's residual earnings, which then acts to entice the IBO to double their efforts, instead of abandoning their efforts, as frequently occurs in most MLM systems.
So if you are fortunate enough to come across a multi-level marketing program that offers you leads from third parties, takes care of both product inventory and shipping on your behalf, releases new products regularly, is operated by a profitable company whose multi-level marketing system is ground-floor, and whose downline structure offers a spill component, you should seriously research its program.
